Scientific symposium entitled (Sarjenu Naidu and her political role in India 1916-1949)

A scientific symposium was held in the Indian Corner unit, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Division in the Central Library, entitled (Sarjeenu Naidu and her Political Role in India 1916-1949). The symposium focused on the most important axes in the history of Mrs. Sarjeenu Naidu’s career, as she is considered one of the most famous poets of the modern era in India, and she was a politician. She was a great fighter for her country’s freedom against British colonialism and to restore the rights of her people and women in particular. She participated in all the movements and sit-ins led by Gandhi. She went to prison several times and went around her country to awaken her people and call for the liberation of women, the restoration of their self-respect, and the taking of their rights.

Present at the symposium: A. Prof. Sabla Talal Yassin Abdel Khader in the College of Arts, Department of History, attended by Eng. M. Samir Muhammad Jassim, Director of Administration at the Central Library, and a number of library employees on 9/25/2023, under the supervision of Ms. Amina Ibrahim, the head of the Indian Corner Unit in the Central Library.
