In cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education, a symposium was held in the Central Library entitled (A symposium entitled The Impact of the Western Language on the Countries Conquered by Islam (Spanish and Turkish as an Example)

  , in which Prof. Ansam Ghadhban and Prof. Dr. Zahraa Hamid Khalil and M.D.Z. Zainab Jassim Hassan, faculty members at the College of Arts, Department of History. The symposium aims to examine the influence of the Arabic language on foreign languages ​​in the countries conquered by Muslims, especially the Spanish language in Andalusia and the Turkish language in the Ottoman era, and the extension of their linguistic influences to this day.
