a delegation of the holy al-Abbasiya Shrine have visited general Secretariat of the Central Library on sunday 7/1/2024, alengthy meeting was held with the visiting delegation headed by Secretary-General  of the central library Dr. thikra Muhammad Kadhim,with attendance of Mr. Ammar Hussein Jawad the manager of Digital Information Center in the abbasid threshold and officials of the technical division in the central library.  The meeting focused on making competition  the best sub-library  at the University of Basra and set scientific and professional standards to choose the winning library,through set  technical committees they evaluate the sub-library and honor the winning one in competition,to encourage our university libraries to develop their work  and keep pace with the digital development taking place in international libraries and improving  the service provided to its student and researchers.

As they discussed many future plans between the General Secretariat of the threshold Abbasiah and the  Central Library in Basrah University through scientific conference between them also  sending specialised staff  from central  library to Abbasiyah threshold to  train them in workshops to preserve and maintain books and manuscripts.also courses and activities in various fields.
