The University of Basra holds a festival to revive paper book culture

Paper Book Culture Revival Festival.
The Secretary of the Central Library at the University of Basra, Assistant Professor Dr. Thikra Muhammad Kazem, met with a delegation from the Basra Heritage Center headed by His Eminence Sheikh Mudrik Al-Hassoun, Director of the Center affiliated with the Department of Islamic and Human Knowledge Affairs, at the Holy Abbasid Shrine. During the meeting, the mechanism for reviving the Paper Book Culture Festival was studied as a result of the development taking place in The information technology revolution, as many researchers resorted to electronic sources, which caused a noticeable weakness in the number of students visiting public libraries and the central library.

It was agreed at the meeting to restore the spirit of the culture of paper reading to the academic atmosphere by holding this festival and forming committees by the Basra Heritage Center to supervise and evaluate the performance of reading students and researchers. The festival includes competitive activities among students, competitions on the names of the most famous books and works, and organizing a workshop on the importance and necessity of caring for culture.
