The General Secretariat of the Central Library, in cooperation with the Basra Heritage Center, held a festival to revive the culture of the paper book. The festival included cultural competitions and various literary contributions by students.
The festival witnessed a large turnout from students and researchers, who at the same time demanded that such festivals be repeated to encourage the culture of reading paper books after many of them resorted to electronic reading. Then, arbitration committees from the library and the center supervised the students’ readings and tests, and at the conclusion of the festival, gifts and certificates of appreciation were distributed.
