An awareness workshop was held in the General Secretariat of the Central Library entitled (The Importance of the Paper Book in Daily Life). The workshop aims to educate and motivate students to read the paper book and return to it in light of the technological development and the digital library revolution. The workshop included the workshop delivered by Dr. Tariq Muhammad Hassan and Professor Adel Ali Obaid from the Basra Heritage Center, and Professor Dr. Tawfiq Al-Hajjaj from the College of Arts, the difference between paper and electronic books, the history of the emergence of libraries, and the most important ancient libraries found in Basra.
