University of Basra organizes a symposium entitled: Addressing intellectual extremism among university students through the phenomena of blackmail and drugs

A symposium was held at the General Secretariat of the Central Library, in cooperation with the College of Arts, the Women’s Empowerment Division, and the General Directorate of Narcotics Affairs in Basra, on addressing intellectual extremism among university students through the phenomena of blackmail and drugs.

The seminar, presented by Lieutenant Colonel Muntadher Kazim Ne’ma from the Community Police and Dr. Abdul Karim Zayer Al-Muzani from the Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Education for Human Sciences, aimed to familiarize students with the dangers of drug abuse and how to get rid of it and treat it through the clinics spread across Basra hospitals and doctors’ clinics.

The symposium included the psychotropic effects resulting from drug abuse and their impact on the family and society, especially orphans and broken families, and caring for them through monitoring, holding seminars, raising awareness, and qualifying community police cadres.
