In the framework of enhancing cultural and knowledge cooperation between youth and academic institutions, a delegation from the National Youth Council in Basra Governorate visited the General Secretariat of the Central Library at the University of Basra, the Global Corner, where they were received by Dr. Maha Jawad Nassar, who provided a comprehensive explanation of the role of the Central Library in supporting students and researchers. The visit aims to review the services provided by the library and the Global Corner to support scientific research and discuss ways of cooperation to enhance the culture of reading and develop research skills among young people and learn about the latest sources and references. It also aims to discuss the possibility of holding joint cultural activities and events. The Council delegation stressed the importance of libraries in developing the cultural and intellectual awareness of young people. The visit concluded with fruitful results, including an agreement on joint cooperation between the National Youth Council and the Central Library to enhance cultural awareness and discuss the possibility of organizing periodic events that include lectures, workshops, awareness programs, and planning to launch youth initiatives that enhance the culture of reading and scientific research in society and emphasize the role of the library as a stimulating environment for young people seeking knowledge and self-development.
