The General Secretariat of the Central Library organized an educational symposium on the crimes of the defunct Baath Party and the violation of human rights. The symposium, in which the head of the Global Corner Unit, Dr. Maha Jawad Nassar, lectured, included the screening of documentary films that archive the crimes of the Baath Party since it assumed power between 1968-2003 and its flagrant violations of human rights, such as its genocide in (Halabja and Anfal) using internationally prohibited weapons, its suppression of popular uprisings in 1980, 1991 and 1999, and the assassination and displacement of Iraqi minds by the Saddamist Baathist regime.
