For sustainable development in the field of environmental conservation and continuing education, the University of Basra welcomes Al-Irfan Intermediate School for Girls.

General secretariat of the central Library has received delegation from Al-Irfan Intermediate school for Girls on a school scientific trip includes group of girls and school staff. General secretary of the Central Library dr. Iman Shamkhi said about the visit aimed to inform students about the library’s facilities and departments and the circumstances of its establishment and development, what contain from precious and valuable books that represent an important cultural heritage in Iraqi civilisation, in addition to how the library contributes in sustaining knowledge and developing the Iraqi individual and society , what gives from services to undergraduate and graduate students and the researchers for knowledge and science from various Oraqi Universities, in addition to what contains from books, sources, periodicals and scientific references, whether printed or written. The delegation look on the library’s sections, accompanied by mr. Ihsan Khudur Obaid, Head of the Beneficiary services Division, scientific video clips were also shown to develop studentś skills and learn about Basrahś history and heritage.
