The General Secretariat of the Central Library at the University of Basra organized a discussion session on the impact of poverty and unemployment on society between reality and hope. The session aimed to add new solutions to enhance sustainable development plans and programs in order to reduce unemployment and poverty rates to acceptable global levels. The session, presented by Dr. Zahraa Hamid Khalil, concluded with the need to pay attention to planning programs and balance in production and consumption policies, and to work on providing job opportunities, supporting small projects, and developing production.
