Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basra, Dr. Muhannad Jawad Al-Asadi, and under the supervision of the Secretary-General of the Central Library, Dr. Iman Shamkhi, the Library Secretariat organized a celebration on the occasion of the University’s founding anniversary (61). The celebration included a charity table exhibition, the proceeds of which were allocated to helping orphans, in addition to an exhibition of free books, a drawing exhibition, and cultural competitions in which students and some employees participated. At the end of the festival, letters of thanks and appreciation and gifts were distributed to the participants.
