
The Central Library Secretariat at the University of Basra received a delegation of students from the English Language Department at the College of Arts, Shatt al-Arab Private University, as part of a scientific trip that included a group of professors and students. Regarding the visit, the Secretary-General of the Central Library, Dr. Iman Shamkhi Jaber, said, “The visit included informing the students about the library’s facilities and departments, the circumstances of its establishment, the history of its emergence, and the valuable and precious books it contains, which represent an important intellectual legacy in Iraqi civilization. It also included how this venerable library contributed to the development and sustainability of knowledge in society and the education of individuals, and the indispensable services it provides to undergraduate and graduate students and researchers of science and knowledge from various Iraqi universities, represented by the loan services of books, sources, periodicals, and scientific references, whether printed or electronic.”
