University of Basra welcomes students from Ibn Mirdas Primary School

The Central Library received a delegation from Ibn Mirdas Primary School as part of a school field trip that included a group of students and school staff. Regarding the visit, the Director of the Central Library, Dr. Ahmed Razzaq Jaou, said, "The visit aimed to familiarize the students with the library's facilities and departments, the circumstances of its establishment, its history, and the valuable and precious books it contains, which represent an important intellectual heritage in Iraqi civilization. It also aimed to show how this venerable library has contributed to the sustainability of knowledge and the education of the individual and Iraqi society, and the indispensable services it provides to undergraduate and graduate students and researchers from various Iraqi universities, in addition to its collection of books, resources, periodicals, and scientific references, whether in print or electronic format." The delegation toured the library's halls accompanied by the Head of the User Services Division, Mr. Ihsan Obeid, and educational videos were shown to develop the students' skills and introduce them to the history and heritage of Basra.
