The Central Library at the University of Basra welcomed students and professors from the Geography Department of the College of Education for Women for a field visit to one of the university's cultural landmarks. Mr. Ihsan Ubaid, Head of the User Services Division, stated that the visit included a tour of the library's halls and the presentation of scientific and cultural videos on the history and heritage of Basra Governorate. Dr. Ahmed Razzaq Al-Fartousi, Director of the Central Library, commented on the visit, saying that the students were introduced to the library's departments, its history, and its valuable and precious collection of books, which represents an important intellectual legacy of Iraqi civilization. He added that the long-established Central Library has contributed to the sustainability of knowledge and the education of individuals and Iraqi society, providing indispensable services to undergraduate and graduate students and researchers from various Iraqi universities, in addition to its collection of books, resources, periodicals, and scientific references, both in print and electronic formats.
