The Central Library at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the College of Arts, organized a seminar entitled "Children's Rights Between Reality and Law." The seminar aimed to introduce the most important laws enacted to protect children and preserve their rights, and to assess the extent to which these laws are implemented in practice. The seminar, which was attended by several faculty members from the College of Arts, covered several topics, including children's rights in ancient civilizations, children's rights in Imam Zayn al-Abidin's Treatise on Rights, Iraqi children's rights between reality and contemporary Iraqi law, and the extent to which society and the state can protect children from abuse and provide everything necessary to create a generation free from psychological and physical illnesses.
