The Central Library at the University of Basra received a delegation from Al-Irfan Intermediate School for Girls as part of a school field trip that included a group of students and school staff. Regarding the visit, the Director of the Central Library, Dr. Ahmed Razzaq Al-Fartousi, said, "The visit aimed to familiarize the students with the library's facilities and departments, the circumstances of its establishment, its history, and the valuable and precious books it contains, which represent an important intellectual heritage in Iraqi civilization. It also aimed to highlight how this venerable library has contributed to the sustainability of knowledge and the education of the individual and Iraqi society, and the indispensable services it provides to undergraduate and graduate students and researchers from various Iraqi universities, in addition to its collection of books, resources, periodicals, and scientific references, both print and electronic." The delegation toured the library's halls accompanied by Mr. Ihsan Obeid, Head of the User Services Division. Educational videos were also shown to develop the students' skills and introduce them to the history and heritage of Basra.
