The Central Library at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Department of Environmental Protection and Improvement in the Southern Region, organized an awareness seminar entitled "Environment, Environmental Quality, and Advanced Environmental Management." This seminar, part of an effort to promote environmental awareness, was presented by Dr. Ali Wahab Ahmed, Director General of the Department of Environmental Protection and Improvement in the Southern Region. The seminar covered the concept of the environment, the importance of environmental quality, and the principles of environmental interaction that ensure the sustainability and protection of resources. It also addressed the importance of preserving environmental quality by reducing pollution and conserving natural resources. Furthermore, the seminar emphasized the principles of environmental balance, sustainability, and the importance of not harming the environment. The seminar aimed to spread environmental awareness, promote sustainability practices among community members, and strengthen the relationship between the university and other service departments.
