The Central Library at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Department of Environmental Protection and Improvement in the Southern Region, organized an awareness seminar entitled "Environment, Environmental Quality, and Advanced Environmental Management." The seminar aimed to spread environmental awareness, promote sustainability practices among members of the community, and strengthen the relationship between the university and other service departments. The seminar, presented by the Director General of the Department of Environmental Protection and Improvement in the Southern Region, Dr. Ali Wahab Ahmed, included an explanation of the concept of the environment and the importance of environmental quality, in addition to the rules of environmental interaction that ensure the sustainability and protection of materials, and the importance of preserving environmental quality by reducing pollution and conserving natural resources. The seminar also emphasized the rules of environmental balance, sustainability, and not harming the environment.
