The Central Library at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Iraqi Bar Association, the National Youth Council, and the Women's Affairs Department, organized an awareness seminar entitled "Combating Violence Against Women: Legal and Societal Dimensions."

The seminar aimed to promote dialogue and understanding to eliminate violence in some cases within Iraqi society.

The seminar, presented by lawyer Ahmed Riyadh Al-Dulaimi, addressed the types of violence in society in general, discussed practical solutions to reduce these cases, and clarified international laws and treaties that grant women their rights. He emphasized that combating violence against women is not the responsibility of a single entity, but rather a collective responsibility that begins with the family and extends to state institutions to ensure a more equitable and stable future.
