In response to an invitation extended by the General Secretariat of the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine to the Central Library of the University of Basrah, a delegation from the Central Library attended the Third International Conference on Library and Information Science. The conference was organized by the Indexing and Information Systems Center and the Al-Fadl Center for the Conservation and Preservation of Manuscripts and Documentary Archives—both affiliated with the Library and Manuscript House of the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine. This participation reflects an ongoing commitment to strengthening academic and scholarly engagement and keeping pace with contemporary developments in the field of library and information science. Held under the theme "Knowledge Leadership: Steering the Future" from October 13 to 15, 2026, the conference brought together a distinguished group of academics, researchers, and specialists. The event served as a platform for exchanging scientific expertise, discussing the latest knowledge-based and technological advancements, and exploring the future of libraries and information centers in light of rapid digital transformation.
