During a Council of Ministers session, His Excellency the Prime Minister, Engineer Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, decided to donate the presidential yacht (Basra Breeze) to the Marine Sciences Center at the University of Basra to benefit from it for scientific and research purposes. University President Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi stated that the presidential yacht (Basra Breeze) is a scientific center. To conduct research related to the river and marine aquatic environment, it contains furnished rooms, a presidential suite, three meeting rooms, and a special helipad. The yacht is 83 meters long and 13 meters wide, and is equipped with engines capable of moving it at a speed of 18 knots per hour.
