The President of the University, Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazem, participated in the meeting of the opinion body at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The President of the University stated that the meeting, which was chaired by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, discussed ways to ensure qualitative excellence in university performance, scientific research, and community service.

He added that the University of Basra has included within its plan for the academic year 2024-2025 the organization of conferences and seminars that would enhance scientific research in a way that suits the actual need of the labor market, as well as directing researchers to write in fields that keep pace with the development taking place in regional and international universities in various scientific and cultural fields.

Pointing out that the university will organize events that will provide community service to many of the people of the governorate, including medical clinics in the College of Dentistry and organizing periodic visits to the children’s hospital in the governorate to provide in-kind and material gifts to children hospitalized in the hospital, as well as periodic visits to the nursing home, as well as building bridges of joint cooperation with Governmental and civil institutions.
