The Central Library, in cooperation with the College of Administration and Economics, organized a student cultural festival entitled "Memory: The Homeland of Iraqi Universities Documents the Crimes of the Deposed Ba'ath Party." The festival aimed to remind and educate current generations about the crimes committed by the former regime against the Iraqi people in general, across all segments of society, and specifically against university students. The festival, which was attended by the Secretary-General of the Central Library, Dr. Ahmed Razzaq Al-Fartousi, and lecturer Sara Mansour Nasser, included speeches, recitations from the Holy Quran, the national anthem, a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah for the souls of Iraq's martyrs, a display of photographs and documentaries, student presentations related to the occasion, and a documentary film about the history of the University of Basra's founding on the occasion of its 62nd anniversary.
